The retail outlet for Wooden Bear is across the road from Culverdene House.
Wooden Bear specializes in fruit wines including hard apple cider (Bear Claw Cider), apple and cherry wines and Applicious, a sweet apple dessert wine. Tastings are free and tours can be arranged by appointment at no charge.
• Burning Kiln Winery
Distance from Culverdene house: 19 km (20 min.)
Burning Kiln produces VQA wines and their 2009 Reisling was selected as the white wine to be served at official functions at Queen’s Park throughout 2012. They have a patio and restaurant, wine tastings and vineyard tours by appointment. Also on site is Long Point Eco-adventures offering everything from star-gazing at the observatory to ziplining.

Distance from Culverdene House: 22 km (20 min.)
Chemical-free blueberries have been grown here for over 35 years. You can buy fresh blueberries here from July to October, frozen ones throughout the year. The winery and distillery produces unique wines and spirits mostly from blueberries, including a blueberry ice wine and rhubarb wine. Facilities include a 125-person conference/banquet hall, a café and patio. "Safari carts" can be booked for tours along their 10 km trail through Carolinian woodlands and marsh.
